LARKANA: Policemen detained

LARKANA, May 4: Seven policemen of the Badah police station were sent behind the bars on Sunday after it was discovered that Rs200,000 had been stolen from the depository of the police station.

The staff concerned apprised the SHO of the police station after they found that Rs200,000, meant for staff’s salary, had been stolen from the depository on Saturday night.

The DPO of Larkana, Sultan Khowaja, appointed the DSP, headquarters, to probe into the matter.

Sources said all the seven police constables — Deedar Massan, Gulzar Mangi, Raham Ali Hesbani, Mohammad Yunis Sariyo, Ghulam Shabir Kandhiro, Deedar Chandio and Mashooq Panhwar — had been kept at the Crime Record Office, Larkana.

Those detained included the in charge of the depository.

Till the filing of this report, no FIR was registered.
