SANGHAR, May 3: The encounter between the police and the bandits, which began five days ago, ended on Saturday with the death of one more policeman and five of the six bandits hiding in a banana plantation near the Salah Waryah village, Tando Adam.

Three policemen had been killed and five more were injured during the five-day gunbattle.

The bandits killed on Saturday were identified as Soomar alias Rahzan Khoso, Haji Khoso, Ali Hassan Rind, Ali Mohammad Oderai Khaskheli, while identity of two others was not known. The killed policeman was identified as Saleh Mangi.

Later, the Sanghar police besieged the bandits hiding in a banana plantation and seized ammunition and a stockpile of food stuff.
