TOBA TEK SINGH, May 3: Kamalia Bar association observed strike on Saturday to protest against what it called indifference of the district police.

Starting from tehsil courts, the Bar members marched through various roads and converged at Thana chowk on the Kamalia-Chichawatni Road.

Speaking on the occasion, the lawyers criticized the Kamalia ASP for ignoring their demand of not conducting a postmortem of their colleague. They also chanted slogans in front of the ASP’s residence.

A young lawyer, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, had committed suicide a couple of days ago following an altercation with his wife at Dargahi Shah locality. The deceased’s colleagues requested the police not to conduct the postmortem, but the latter did not accommodate them.
