MIRPURKHAS, May 3: Ninety two primary, middle and high schools remain closed in the Mirpurkhas district due to non- availability of the staff.

This was said by the EDO, education, Mirpurkhas, at a meeting of the EDOs of different departments with the chairman, Sindh chief minister’s inspection team, Nazar Hussain Maher, at circuit house here on Saturday.

Mr Maher asked the district government to recruit required staff on contract basis to make the schools functional.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Maher said that the government wanted to provide basic facilities to the people but due to lack of interest shown by officers required results were not being achieved.

He said that provision of better health and sanitation facilities to people was the priority of the Sindh government. But, he regretted, despite releasing huge funds, people were not getting any benefit.

He urged the elected representatives and NGOs to keep an eye on the working of the government departments.

MINISTER: Sindh minister for culture, tourism and sports Shabbir Ahmed Qaimi has said that measures are being taken to make Nagarparkar and Keenjhar lake attractive spots for tourists.
