Academy trials for Abbottabad

LAHORE, Jan 6 Trials to select players for the PHF Hockey Academy in Abbottabad were held at the Abbottabad Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

Fifty players out of the 102 who appeared for the trials were short listed in the Under-14, 15 and 16 age categories.

Final trials to select the final 33 players will be held after a few days. The trials were observed by the NWFP selection committee comprising Naeem Akhtar (chairman) and Musaddiq Khan along with coaches from the Abbottabad Hockey Academy — Arshad Munir (HBL), Riasat Ali (PIA) and Mudassar Khan (Wapda).

Trials for Peshawar academy, meanwhile, will be held at Lala Ayub Stadium on Jan 13 and 14.—Sports Reporter
