Bankers beat sailors

LAHORE, April 19 National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) moved ahead in the 20th NBP National Football Challenge Cup, beating Navy 1-0 at Qasim Bagh, Multan on Monday.

In another match of the same Group 'D', PEL outclassed DFA Multan 3-0.

NBP entered the quarter-final with two successive wins, both by single-goal margin.

PEL are well poised to join them as they required only a draw against Navy when two will meet on Tuesday.

For the bankers, Junaid Hamza scored the solitary goal in the second half.

In the second match, Saadullah (37th min), Asmatullah (73rd min) and Riaz (90th min) were the scorers for the PEL against Multan.
