KARACHI, April 5: Being consistent with their fine performance ZTBL won their second match in the 8th National Women’s Cricket Championship Seniors as they thrashed Rawalpindi Region Women by 306 runs on Friday.

In the pool ‘A’ match played at the Ittehad Cricket Ground in Lahore, ZTBL won the toss and elected to bat first. Centuries by Nida Dar and Bismah Maroof and 97 by Rabiya Shah helped them amass 414-4 in the allotted 50 overs.

In reply, Rawalpindi Region could only muster 108 all out off 38.5 overs. ZTBL’s Nida Dar took two wickets while giving away no runs at all. Bismah claimed two for three runs while Zeba Manzoor two for 24.

Bismah was named player of the match.

Meanwhile, Karachi Region beat Faisalabad Region by six wickets in another pool ‘A’ match played at Bagh-i-Jinnah, Lahore.

In pool ‘B’, Peshawar Region outclassed Bahawalpur Region by 116 runs at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke Ground No 1 and Quetta Region routed Hyderabad Region by 123 runs at the Lahore Country Club, Muridke Ground No 2.
