CHARSADDA/KHAR, March 19: Unidentified persons killed a soldier of Frontier Constabulary and injured two policemen in Charsadda on Tuesday.

Sources said that the assailants opened firing on Qadir Khan, the FC man, who was performing duty near local courts in Shabqadar. He was killed on the spot while two policemen identified as Shoaibul Islam and Mukhtar were injured in the attack.

The assailants managed to escape after committing the crime. The firing created panic and fear among the local population. Police registered a case against unidentified assailants and started investigation. The dead body and the injured were taken to a local hospital. Earlier in the day three blasts occurred in Shabqadar tehsil, creating fear and manic among the people. In Batgram area, two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted near the main gate of a private se school went off with a bang. As a result the gate and boundary wall of the school were destroyed while other parts of the school were partially damaged. The third blast occurred near the hujra of MPA Babar Ali Mohmand, a local leader of Qaumi Watan Party. In Bajaur Agency, a security man suffered injuries when militants attacked a checkpost in Sadiqabad area on the night between Monday and Tuesday. According to officials, militants fired several missiles and rockets at the checkpost, situated near the ghee mills in Sadiqabad. The security personnel exchanged fire with the militants. A security man was injured in exchange of fire.
