MASS communication and journalism graduates have protested through the media against the injustice being meted out to them by the Sindh information ministry while allowing all graduates in the social sciences to apply for the advertised posts of information officers.

The role and responsibilities of the information officer indicate that mass communication and journalism graduates are the suitable candidates for such posts.

One of the major roles of the Sindh information ministry is to manage and disseminate information responsibly and accurately.

However, the Sindh department is barring such candidates from playing their professional role and the skills and is opening the door to graduates in the social sciences to apply for the vacancies of information officers.

The Sindh government, particularly the minister concerned, seems to be unaware of the situation.

The publication of such advertisement on the part of the Sindh government is tantamount to discouraging students from studying mass communication and journalism.
