Published September 22, 2012

A Bornean river turtle (Orlitia borneensis) dives in a basin as it is presented to the media on September 18, 2012 at the zoo in Dresden, eastern Germany. The animal hatched from one of nine eggs laid in April 2012. The eggs were put in an incubator, and between mid-August and the beginning of September, baby turtles hatched from all eggs. Eight of the animals survived the first critical days. According to the zoo, it is the first breed of this turtle species in Germany. — AFP
