KARACHI, Sept 14: Two suspected bandits were killed in a shootout with police near M.A. Jinnah Road in the early hours of Friday.

The police said that they were fleeing after snatching a motorbike within the remit of the Nabi Bakhsh police station when a police van patrolling the area received information about the snatching.

They said the police team chased the suspects and an exchange of fire ensued. During the exchange of fire, both the ‘bandits’ sustained fatal gunshot wounds, the police said.

The two men were being shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi when they succumbed to their wounds, the police said, adding that they had seized two TT pistols found in their possession.

One of the suspected bandits was later identified as Zohaib, a resident of Ranchhore Lines, the police said.
