LAHORE, Sept 5: The Lytton Road police claim to have arrested three accused wanted in the murder of a Lahore High Court reader here on Wednesday.

A handout issued here on Wednesday said a vehicle, a computer, a licensed pistol, a camera, prize bonds, property documents, cheque books and other important documents snatched from the victim were also recovered.

Shahid informed the police his brother Mazhar, who had been serving as reader for 25 years, had been missing since Aug 22 and his mobile was also switched off.

The investigation was assigned to Sub-Inspector Muhammad Afzal who along with his team got the data of Mazhar’s cell phone and traced and arrested accused Mazhar Iqbal Ghori, Humayun alias Hunny and Sajid.

Accused Mazhar Ghori told investigators that they had killed Mazhar for the ‘sake of honour’.

He alleged Mazhar had relations with the aunt of Hamayun.

CCPO Aslam Tareen has announced cash awards and commendation certificates for the police investigation team.
