SUKKUR, Sept 3: Police recovered a woman after a raid in Salehpat area near here on Monday. She was kidnapped by her brothers four months ago and sold into marriage with another man as a punishment for marrying a man of her own free will.

The Sukkur bench of the Sindh High Court directed police to recover Robina Shambani and produce her in court on Sept 6 after her husband Arbelo Shambani filed a petition, accusing her brothers of kidnapping her four months ago and selling her to another man.

Police recovered her after a raid on the house of her brother Pappu Shambani in Salehpat area and brought her to women police station where she told police that she was kidnapped by Allah Warayo, Qasim and Pupoo, her brothers, from her house when she was alone.

She accused them of selling her to one Abdul Qadir for Rs400,000 and forcing her to marry him.

She said that she had three children from her husband and she wanted to go to him. She said she feared she would be killed by her brothers and demanded police protection.
