Every thing in Pakistan will get better after Zardari, shariefs and General Kayani are eliminated from Pakistan.

Why does government have to be involved in it? solar energy kits are just like the Generators,UPS, Satelite or cable TVs which are installed on individual basis.All Government has to do is to exempt it from import duties and taxes and allow free import.After all Ayub Khan allowed free and tax free imports of birth control devices to control the population. Even though the cost of producing solar energy for an individual could be on high side initially,but may come down with the passage of time.There are people in the country and a very large numbers too,who could easily afford this. If government is relluctant to be active in this,it may mean it wants to protect it's vested interest.

Why not motivate communities at the union council level to subscribe funding for solar power projects in each union council and ask banks to finance partially these projects. The union council level councils made strong to run these power plants...all private sector owned. No govt. involvement. Letus all think about it.

Because natural gas is already in short supply. There is a load shedding of natural gas also in the cities other than of Sindh.

There is a hope that some of Pakistan's problems will be solved when Zardari era ends (if it ends), and Imran Khan era begins (if it begins). There are two IFs there. Pakistani people has to make it happen - if they do not make it happen, then they deserve nothing.

Can you afford not to have electricity in these modern times? Without electricity, you can't go too far.

More loans mean more interests. Can a common Pakistani afford it?

Wy not use natural gas for this purpose.Natural gas is used for domestic electricity generation in Karachi by residents since few years now.

There are companies in developed countries who provide finances for such projects as loans. The only thing is that firm and honest commitment should be there which is very difficult to find in Pakistan.

Solar energy can be made viable if the US model is followed. Legislation must be done to require power companies to buy back power generated by consumers. The law must obligate the power companies to buyback power at the consumer’s purchase rate. In US this model has not been very successful as power is relatively cheap and there is no load shedding. Many states here offer tax credits for reducing the initial cost of solar power equipment. .
