LAHORE, July 18: The Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company has said the contract of the Lahore Meat Complex has not been awarded to a close relative of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Pakistan People’s Party lawmaker Shaukat Basra said on the floor of the Punjab Assembly on Tuesday that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had awarded the contract of the Rs1.5 billion Lahore Meat Complex project to a company owned by his daughter and son-in-law in violation of rules and regulations.

However, a Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company spokesman said in a press release issued here on Wednesday that all administrative matters of the meat complex were being looked after by the company itself.
