LAHORE, Dec 22: Robbers tortured three women and looted cash and gold ornaments worth Rs1.4 million in Gawalmandi early on Thursday. Aziz Butt told the Gawalmandi police that four robbers entered their house, held all family members at gunpoint and started looting valuables. He said as women raised an alarm the suspects started beating them up and fled with cash and jewellery.

Four robbers barged into the house of Muhammad Husnain in Sultanpura in Misri Shah police limits and took away cash and jewellery worth Rs4 million.

ACCIDENT: A young man was killed and two others injured when a speeding pickup hit a motorcycle on Multan Road in Chuhng on Thursday.

Chuhng police said Husnain Bokhari died on the spot while his two pillions suffered critical wounds and were admitted to Jinnah Hospital.

The pickup driver fled the scene leaving the vehicle behind. Police shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital’s morgue for legal process.

FIRE: A fire broke out in the house of Chaudhry Tanveer at Koray Stop on Walton Road on Thursday, burning down valuables worth Rs250,000.

Rescue 1122 said the cause of the fire was said to be a short circuit.
