Jokes
Jokes in the Young World magazine are always interesting but they are too few. I request you to give at least half a page to jokes every week.

Poet’s corner
Poet’s corner is a wonderful platform for kids who have an aptitude for writing poetry. Through this section, children not only get the opportunity to express their feelings but it’s also a wonderful place to promote one’s poems.

My section has changed
This is regarding the story My section has changed by Mujtaba Shabbir Safri (YW, October 1, 2011). It is true that changes are a part of our lives and we must accept them gracefully.
When the monotony of life is broken and we enter a new phase or a new routine — in which we have to encounter many strangers as well — we feel uncomfortable. But that’s life and we have to adjust ourselves in new situations. This practice eventually helps us in achieving our goals.

Life is beautiful
This is with reference to the article Life is beautiful by F.D. Sheikh (October 29, 2011). I agree with the writer’s point of view that success and failure are the facts of life and we should not take failures to heart because then we won’t be able to face challenging situations in our lives.
Also, after achieving success, we shouldn’t become overconfident and should rather work harder to retain what we have achieved. And during all our endeavours, we shouldn’t lose hope because when hope is lost, everything is lost.

A pen for your thoughts
This is with reference to the article A pen for your thoughts by Yasmin Elahi (YW, November 5, 2011). The article was encouraging and inspiring for those who consider writing a difficult task.
Ms Yasmin beautifully advised struggling writers not to lose hope if in the beginning their writings fail to get any space in a publication as only continuous effort in this regard will make one successful.

(II)
This is with reference to the article A pen for your thoughts by Yasmin Elahi. The writer was so true when she said that writing an article is so easy because you just need to raise your pen on any given topic and express yourself beautifully.
The point which I liked most was to use “catchy title” to draw the attention of your readers. Nevertheless, we should always keep a pen and paper handy to grab the flashes of different ideas and notions. Happy writing!

Cinema: an influential medium
Cinema is a powerful medium to convey messages and that too in an entertaining way. Therefore, films can play a very constructive role in enlightening the minds of people. However, this useful role of movies is often ignored by commercial filmmakers who use movies just as a source of entertainment and often misuse this medium by including vulgar content in movies — making young minds corrupt and polluted.
I, through this letter, request filmmakers to use this medium to educate people — it’s a heavy responsibility on them to make films on important issues rather than useless subjects so that viewers can become well-informed, cultured and capable of pondering over serious issues of the society.

Very few YW in Turbat
This is with reference to the letter Very few YW in Turbat by MS Bolani (November 12, 2011). I agree with Bolani as in Turbat very few copies of Dawn can be found. Due to this many children can’t get to read Young World on Saturdays.
I am an old reader of Young World but most of times I also miss its latest copy due to the unavailability of sufficient copies of Dawn in our region. I request Dawn’s circulation department to look into the matter.
