A touching moment was observed when the late comedian Moin Akhtar’s special award was announced and consequently received by his son, Mansoor Akhtar. There were tears all round and applause for the veteran TV artiste who is no more with us.

Zeek Afridi (Best Live Singer) from Peshawar centre famous for his remix of Bibi Shereenay received his award from legends Abida Parveen and Tina Sani.

Veteran TV actor Sohail Ahmed performed his popular character Azizi much to the delight of all those present.

Khayyam Sarhadi’s award for Best Supporting Actor for Raajar was received by his widow and former actress, Saiqa in an intensly moving moment that reminded all and sundry of the passing away of the showbiz great.

British band RDB performed an electrifying number that made many in the audience want to stand up and dance to their hip beat. — T.R.
