ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday hoped that there would be good results of the resolution of the joint sitting of Parliament, which would be implemented in letter and spirit.

“We have seen a spirit during the session. We are hopeful that the fate of this joint resolution will be different from those passed earlier by the Parliament.”

Speaking to media after the briefing to the joint session, he hailed interaction of the parliamentarians with the heads of armed forces and        intelligence agency, which he termed as a “meaningful one.”

He said that the demands of the opposition and other political parties were heard and accommodated in the resolution and it was agreed that an independent commission would be formed to probe the US Abbottabad operation.

Expressing satisfaction on the proposal of formation of an independent commission, Ch Nisar said that the Prime Minister and he (Leader of Opposition in National Assembly) would nominate the members of commission within seven days.

He said that the commission would probe the Abbottabad operation and fix responsibility.

He further said that the parliament had agreed that measures would be taken to stop drone attacks.

He said the joint resolution was a reflection of people's aspirations and it was responsibility of the government to implement it in letter and spirit.

Nisar said that the joint resolution would convey a positive message to the world on the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan. – APP
