KARACHI, Jan 7: The Drug Enforcement Cell of the Pakistan Customs seized 1.5 kilograms of white heroin concealed in a suitcase on Friday.

According to a press release, the customs staff intercepted a passenger, Muhammad Haider, at the international departure hall of the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, when he came there to take a Dhaka-bound flight (BG-032) of Bangladesh Airlines.

A search of his baggage led to the recovery of 1.5 kilograms fine quality of white heroin, it added. Interestingly, the passenger had kept prayer rugs and rosary beads in the suitcase to misguide the baggage examining staff.

Following the seizure, the passenger was arrested and a case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997 was registered against him.
