LAHORE, Dec 11: Nadra claimed on Saturday to have arrested an agent and recovered a good number of fake computerised national identity cards (CNICs), birth certificates and B forms from him.

According to a Nadra spokesman, Saeed Ahmed visited Nadra Shami Road office on Saturday for applying for a CNIC for the first time. He presented his birth certificate and the CNIC of his father. When he was asked to tell the name of his grandfather he could not provide the one which was in the record of the authority.

The officials detained him and during interrogation Saeed Ahmed said he paid Rs4,000 to agent Imran Sabir outside the office and he provided him with the CNIC and a birth certificate. The officials nabbed Sabir and handed him over to the FIA for registration of a case.— Staff Reporter
