ISLAMABAD, Dec 7: A female member of the Pakistan Tennis Federation has urged the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) to include the sport in the upcoming National Games scheduled to be held in Peshawar.

“Both football and hockey have been included [in the National Games] and it's unfair if tennis is excluded,” said Shahida Farooq here on Tuesday.

Shahida added that she had also sent a written request to the POA President Gen (retd) Syed Arif Hasan, expressing that exclusion of the sport from the National Games would be unjust.

“The situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains erratic and tennis events can be shifted to Islamabad where it is quite safe,” she reckoned.

Shahida further said that like football, tennis event could be organised here at the PTF Complex.

“We along with the PTF offer our complete support in organising men and women tennis events at Islamabad in a befitting manner,” she concluded.
