KARACHI, Dec 5: The University of Karachi has rusticated two students for being involved in a kidnapping attempt while another student has been debarred from the university till the university's disciplinary committee recommends any further action in his case. According to a KU press release, Prof (Dr) Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, the KU vice-chancellor, has taken a serious notice of the recent two incidents in which an employee of the admission cell was beaten up by a student while in the other incident two students tried to kidnap a student.

The students involved in the kidnapping attempt were apprehended by Rangers personnel and an FIR was also registered against them.

“Noman Haider Siddiqui of the faculty of pharmacy and Badrul Hasan Hashmi of the sociology department involved in the kidnapping incident have been rusticated. Both were evening programme students.

Munir Baloch studying at the sociology department has been debarred till the university's disciplinary committee takes further action.

The student tortured an employee of the admission cell,” says the KU press statement.

The record of Munir Baloch has also been sealed and the student wouldn't be allowed to sit in the semester exam. Strict action would be taken against students found involved in threatening or harassing any university staff, the statement adds.
