LAHORE The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday took suo motu notice of the murders of two people accused of blasphemy in Faisalabad and summoned RPO Faisalabad on Wednesday.

The incident took place Monday when the two Christian brothers accused of blasphemy were being taken to the district court for remand.

The brothers were shot on court premises and were seriously wounded along with the investigation officer responsible for the case. The brothers succumbed to their injuries on way to the hospital. The police officer was still admitted at the hospital for treatment.

Consequently, IG Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar suspended SP investigation Faisalabad Muhammad Hanif and DSP Civil Lines Ashiq Jutt on ground of not providing adequate security to the accused who were under arrest.

The LHC taking suo motu notice of the incident called a hearing in this regard tomorrow. - Dawn News
