LAHORE, April 2 Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Qasim Zia inaugurated the first women's hockey academy at the National Hockey Stadium on Friday.

Congratulating the PHF Women's Wing Secretary Tanzeela Amir Cheema for setting up the academy, Qasim Zia hoped that it would help popularize hockey among the women of Pakistan.

He assured of full support from the PHF for the academy while saying that the federation would set up more such academies in the other cities of the country as well.

PHF Secretary Asif Bajwa and women's academy coach Olympian Zahid Sharif were also present on the occasion.—Agencies
