Marking the launch of Bonanza’s  new interactive store last week at Dolmen Mall in Karachi was a fashion presentation featuring their Fall/Winter collection with hair and make-up by Saba Ansari of Sabs Salon. A variety of five designs were displayed on the makeshift ramp within the store premises featuring motifs and embroidered fronts in wool, silk and khaddar fabric.

The outlet will display designer series’ limited edition winter collection which encompasses signature style sweaters made of pure lamb wool, cashmere and merino wool. The line will also feature overcoats and regular coats made from a blend of cashmere and pure wool.

The fashion segments showcased woolen sweaters, coats, scarves and caps in brown, rust and grey tones including coats with frilly collars and chaddors. Others showed eastern formal wear in silk, khaddar and karandi. The kameezes comprised of embroidered fronts and motifs worn over straight pants in bright and dark colours.

Anoushey Ashraf hosted the event which was attended by fashionistas and the crème de la crème of society, including Nadia Hussain, Amna Ilyas and others.

The launch event also featured the top 10 finalists from the Veet Super Model Contest besides models Saima Azhar, Sana Sarfaraz and Abbas Jafri. Commenting on the finalists, Frieha Altaf of Catalyst said that until fresh faces are not given an opportunity to work, the fashion industry will not be able to move ahead. Speaking to Images on Sunday, Lahore-based Danya who is one of the finalists, said: “Bonanza proved to be a good learning experience and I’m thankful to Frieha who taught me how to walk and pose and what kind of attitude we need as a model.”

Another, Mahi Khan, said her life has undergone a miraculous transformation. “I’m working in a drama serial, Ishq Samandar and I have now also been a part of some major fashion shows and launches.”

“I feel like a super model already. I’m really happy with Nadia Hussain being our mentor,” said Abeer who is from Karachi.

Nida Bangash from Islamabad said that given the chance to work with celebrities, the judges have given girls like her the right kind of attitude to become super models.
