ISLAMABAD, Sept 25: A two-day workshop for women journalists, organised by Uks in collaboration with CIPE (Center of International Private Enterprise) as part of the ‘Powerful Women Powerful Nation’ project concluded here on Tuesday.

The two-day workshop, started on Monday, was the second of its kind, focusing on mobilising, motivating and utilising the digital and print media to change the psyche of people pertaining to Pakistani women.

Hammad Siddiqui, Deputy Country Director CIPE, during his session on social media said: “Online media is becoming the most popular, and for sharp career growth, one would have to embed technology in practice”. The session included use of pervasive interfaces and media tools to impact online journalism.

The director and executive producer of Uks Research Center said that women worked as officers, pilots, industrialists, editors and top entrepreneurs, but lacked representation in the media. She urged participants to bring aspiring success stories, both visible and hidden, of women achievers in various capacities.

The concern of inadequate space in print and electronic media apportioned to women was also highlighted in the workshop. —A Reporter
