Dirty overhead bridges

Published September 23, 2012

I ALWAYS thought of people dodging the traffic to cross busy roads as foolish till I myself happened to use the overhead bridge on The Mall between Regal Chowk and Alfalah Square a few days ago.

To my disappointment, I myself preferred to get down again and cross the road risking my life rather than crossing the maze. I could see human faeces, making it almost impossible to use the bridge.

The dengue awareness billboard was serving as a bolt-hole for those using the bridge as public toilet.

I request the authorities concerned to look into the matter and clean the bridges to prevent others from vowing to never use the overhead bridges again.
