The PSF has no authority to take such action against players: Jahangir Khan– APP (File Photo)

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan squash legend Jahangir Khan has lashed out at the PSF for imposing a ban on three leading players of the country including Aamir Atlas, Yasir Butt, and Waqar Mahboob over their poor show in men’s team squash in Germany.

Questioning the credibility of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF), Jahangir said that it had no authority to take such action against players.

“The players are not the only one to be blamed and the federation is equally answerable for the bad performance of the team,” he said.

Jahangir added that no executive committee can take disciplinary action against players.

“An independent committee should be formed comprising former squash players to look into this matter, the federation’s officials have no authority to take such a decision,” he said.

PSF secretary Irfan Asghar, when approached, shied away from making any comments on Jahangir’s statement. —APP
