LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has booked University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) former vice chancellor Rana Iqrar Ahmad Khan and ex-registrar Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain on charges of misuse of power and embezzlement of millions of rupees.

According to the ACE, the case has been registered against Rana Iqrar for illegally hiring gazetted and non gazetted staff on the basis of nepotism.

“Rana Iqrar hired 608 individuals illegally. He violated all the laws during the recruitment process. He caused a loss of Rs420 million to the national treasury,” the ACE said and added while holding the portfolio of VC he worked on a dual post as project director in a US Aid Project and drew double salary.
