PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will organise 47 different games for special persons this week wherein more than 700 athletes will participate.

A statement issued here on Wednesday said a meeting of the sports and youth affairs department chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was briefed about development projects of the department.

The meeting was informed that women indoor gymnasiums would be established at all divisional headquarters, for which an ADP scheme had already been approved.

The meeting was informed that a female indoor gymnasium would be set up in Swat at a cost of Rs99 million. It was stated that a cricket stadium with allied facilities would be established in Kalam, for which land was being acquired.

Besides, a sports complex would also be established in Swat.

Mahmood Khan directed the authorities to speed up work on the projects to boost sports activities in the province.
