The history of earth concerns the development of planet Earth from its formation to the present. All the branches of science have contributed to understanding of the main events of Earth’s past, how it has formed and the constant geological change and biological evolution.

No wonder we have been reading the ever interesting and mind-blowing information about our earth in various different forms, such as text books, videos, audios and not to forget on various websites. However, reading anything plain though has benefits, but having an interactive and colourful format lingers in our mind.

One such website, The 25 Biggest Turning Points in Earth’s History by BBC Earth is an excellent such example of the collection of mini-articles with animation.

You don’t have to dig inside the site as you will find everything right in front of you. All you have to do is scroll down and explore the 25 biggest milestones in Earth’s History in an interactive way.

You will find the title in the centre and the time the event took place at the left side of the screen with a brief but complete information below it. The earliest examples include, “The origin of life”, “Life Harnesses: The Power of Sunlight”, “The Beginning of Plate Tectonics”, “Plants Colonise the Land”, “The First Mass Extinction,” “Fish that Walk the on Land”, “Dawn of the Reptiles” etc., while the recent in the Earth’s history include, “The First Primates Evolve”, “Supercharged Plants”, “The first Hominins” and “The Human Race”.
