LAHORE: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested a suspect for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in Raiwind area.

According to police, the minor girl was playing in the street outside her house in Teacher Colony, Raiwind, when the suspect lured her to a deserted place and raped her. He fled away leaving the child injured, they added. A case was registered against the suspect on the complaint of the girl’s father.

Police’s investigation wing DIG Dr Inam Waheed took notice of the incident and constituted a police team to arrest the suspect.

The team arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police’s gender-base crimes cell for further investigation.

RECOVERED: Millat Park and Hanjarwal investigation police teams claimed to have recovered a girl and a boy who had gone missing separately.

Hadia, 17, of Millat Park went missing and a kidnapping case was registered against unknown suspects some days ago. The police said their team recovered the girl and handed her over to her parents. Investigation revealed that the girl had left her house after developing differences with her family, the police said.
