QUETTA: Balochistan Governor retired Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has underlined the need for developing human resources and said they need to be current and relevant.

Speaking at the concluding session of a two-week training course arranged by the Metallurgical Corporation of China (MMC) and Mines and Mineral Development Department (MMDD) of Balochistan for geoscientists on Monday, he said for human resource to be current, relevant and vigilant it has to have the latest theoretical base, experiential base and preferential base.

“In terms of theoretical base, the human resource has to develop and acquire the latest in place of academic knowledge about the field. At the same time, it must also acquire, share, exchange and enhance practical knowledge about any field and lastly and most importantly comes the field of preferential bases where the human resource has to keep in touch with global patterns and cultures.”

He said unfortunately attention hasn’t been given to the development of human resource in Balochistan which was causing difficulties to the province. He said that Balochistan is rich in mineral resources but there is an urgent need to utilise these resources by increasing the capabilities of officers and engineers.

Twenty engineers from MMDD and MMC participated in the course.

Chief Secretary Balochistan Dr Akhtar Nazeer, Chairman of the MMC He Xuping, Secretary Mines and Mineral Zahid Saleem, Ejaz Sanjrani, Course Director Nawaz Khan also spoke on the occasion.
