LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Samsam Bukhari says Asif Zardari has made a good decision by not putting up resistance to arrest.

Stating that neither the NAB was established nor the cases against Asif Zardari were filed by the present government, Mr Bukhari expressed his astonishment over Shahbaz Sharif’s supportive comments for Asif Zardari. “It has once again been proved that the looters of the country are on the same page having the same narrative,” the information minister said.

Mr Bukhari said the PPP and PML-N should not hold the present government responsible for their own [evil] deeds. He said the government would act upon the orders of the courts in letter and spirit. He said courts of the country were free and impartial and everyone would have to face the process of accountability.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had given a clear message to the nation that he wanted to make Pakistan self-sufficient through austerity measures. He said the national exchequer was looted during the successive regimes but the present government was committed to again stabilising the economy. He said this endeavour would become possible when country’s tax net would be expanded like other developed countries.

He said the prime minister wanted to develop Pakistan through thick and thin at every cost. He said the corruption mafia was supporting status quo. He said Pakistan would have been enjoying better economic conditions, if former rulers had not looted the exchequer. “The plunderers of millions of rupees would no more be able to mislead the public,” the minister said.
