LAHORE: The Shadbagh police on Thursday lodged a case against seven suspects on charges of killing a woman and her two stepdaughters over property on Wednesday.

In the first information report (FIR), the police nominated six suspects, including Sajawal, the brother-in-law of the girls, and their five brothers, namely Amir, Waqas, Shahzad, Umar and Haider, besides a security guard who shot at them.

Sub-Inspector Chaudhry Riasat Ali is the complainant.

According to the FIR, Sajawal and the security guard had shot at and killed Naila and her two stepdaughters, Rubina and Sadia, besides injuring their sister, Rabia, in the graveyard over property.

The head of the victims’ family, Malik Asghar of Bombay Ghughian village, was also murdered allegedly by his two wives in Sheikhupura a couple of weeks ago.

Both the wives who had killed him are in jail.

His other two wives had also been murdered over property disputes and Naila was the fifth wife who was allegedly shot dead along with his two daughters.

Malik Asghar had contracted six marriages. One wife had left him.

On Thursday, the police handed over the bodies of three killed women to their relatives who buried them in the local graveyard.

The police said no arrest could be made in connection with the triple murder case as all the suspects had gone underground after the incident.
