LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has objected to appointment of Zulfikar alias Zulfi Bukhari as special assistant to the prime minister.

“How can a foreigner being investigated by NAB for his offshore companies be appointed as prime minister’s special assistant,” asks PPP parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Syed Hassan Murtaza.

He alleges in a statement that contrary to his claims regarding averting conflict of interest in making public appointments Imran Khan has selected his friend and financial sponsor Zulfi Bukhari as his special assistant. He hopes the Supreme Court will take notice of the posting to a public office of a foreign citizen.
