LAHORE: Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed has approached the Lahore High Court (LHC), challenging the delimitation of two provincial constituencies — PP-151 and PP-160 of Lahore.

In his petition, Mr Rasheed contended that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) held the delimitation of the two constituencies in violation of the election laws. Through his counsel, he submitted that the ECP had failed to address the objections raised by him and others pertaining to the delimitation of the constituencies. He prayed to the court to set aside the delimitations held by the election commission and order it do the activity afresh after taking the objections into consideration.

Several petitions have already been filed against the delimitations by different parliamentarians from both sides –treasury as well as the opposition.
