DI KHAN: An army soldier was killed and three others suffered injuries in a roadside blast in Zarkanai area of Draban here on Tuesday.

According to police and local residents, a convoy of security forces was passing through the area when a remote-controlled IED planted by suspected militants went off, injuring four security personnel. They were identified as Ismail, Abid, Khuram and Nazir, who were rushed to hospital. The injured were later referred to CMH Peshawar, but one of them succumbed to wounds on the way, according to reports.

Soon after the incident, the security forces and police cordoned off the area and started a search operation.
