ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday transferred dozens of its officers as it prepares to carry out delimitation of constituencies and door-to-door verification of voters.

At least three officers were promoted to grade 19 and another four to grade 18 from a total of little less than 100 officers across the country. Two of the three officers promoted to grade 19 were appointed as regional election commissioners while the third was promoted to post of director of the provincial election commission office in Lahore.

Of the transferred officers, nine were relocated from the ECP Secretariat in Islamabad, 26 from Punjab, 13 from Sindh, 14 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 23 from Balochistan.

Besides the district election commissioners from dozens of districts, regional election commissioners of Sukkur, Multan, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Mardan and Quetta were also replaced with new appointees.
