LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a campaign to approach existing and prospective taxpayers through emails and text messages.
The objective of the campaign is to bring more people into the tax net and ensure the timely filing of returns.
According to an official source, the board has already extended the last date for the filing of tax returns for individuals and associations of persons to Sept 30 on public demand.

Wouldn't it be appropriate if FBR investigate and block the spam emails which ask an assessee to click on a link because after his tax assessment Rs.xyz have been determined by FBR as Tax Refund.

FBR must make the procedure for issuing tax number easy and hassle free. It must also simplify tax return forms and make it illegal for the tax-touts called tax advisers to operate.
