JHANG: Five children, including two sisters, drowned in a pond of rainwater at Kotli Baqir village on Jhang-Khushab Road here on Wednesday.

Reports said the children were playing when they accidentally fell into the pond. On raising a hue and cry, locals rushed to rescue the children but Misbah Riaz, 10, Saima Aslam, 8, and Sania Aslam, 4, drowned and were recovered dead.

Ziaul Rehman, 9, and Saqlain Abbas, 7, were declared dead at 18 Hazari THQ Hospital.
