Fire erupts at a plastic factory in Karachi's site area.─DawnNews

A massive fire engulfed a plastic factory on Sunday morning in Karachi's Site area, DawnNews reported. No loss of life has been reported.

The fire brigade arrived at the site of the fire, which started at 8:00 soon after it spread to different areas of the building, DawnNews reported. Rangers and police officials arrived at site of the fire.

Seven hours after the fire was reported, it continued to rage, and heavy clouds of black smoke could be seen billowing from the building in TV footage.

Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar, appearing on DawnNews to comment on the incident, said that the fire department lacked resources to tackle the flames.

He added, however, that "whatever resources are available are being utilised to fight the fire. We know this is a big fire and efforts to control it are underway."
