In a heartfelt video message addressing Pakistani cricket fans, Lahore Qalandars' Grant Elliot, a medium-pace bowler from New Zealand, has mourned the blast that shook Punjab's provincial capital on Monday.

Elliot, in the video message shared on social media Tuesday, said his thoughts are with everyone who lost their loved ones in the attack, adding that he hoped everything will get better soon.

"Just wanted to send out a message to everyone in Lahore... following the blast that happened. Thinking of all those people, of loved ones and the people of Lahore, hoping that everyone is safe and ... everything will be alright," Elliot is heard saying in the video.

Senior police officers were trying to convince protesting chemists to call off a sit-in outside the Punjab Assembly when a bomber, who apparently had mingled with the protesters, stepped forward to get close to the negotiators and blew himself up.

At least 13 were killed and 87 injured in the explosion.
