Word search

This is regarding “Word search” published every week in YW. I love the word search as it is always very interesting to search the words in the grid.

It is a great exercise which sharpens our mind and makes us more inquisitive. I would like to request the YW to keep publishing the word search.

Lahooti Melo 2017

Not everyone knows about the significance of Lahooti Melo — a festival that highlights music, dance, poetry and various genres of art in Hyderabad (held every year). Folk artists, mainstream ones as well as indigenous musicians, poets, instrumentalists, writers, filmmakers and keynote speakers from different societies participate and share their stories and perform their art.

I had never seen such an amazing and enthusiastic event in Sindh. I believe, these events bring us closer to each other and remind us about our culture and tradition, which is dying out with the advancement of technology.

Hard work always pays

This is with reference to the story, “Hard work always pays” by Aly Muhammad Karim (YW, December 3).This story had lots of important lessons. Hard work is the key to success, without hard work we can’t get anything.

Reckless drivers

Every day on my way to college, I observe drivers being so careless, whether they are driving cars or riding bikes. It has become habitual for these drivers to drive fast without following the rules of traffic, like changing lanes on the road without giving the indicator and many others, thus accidents occur.

Apart from that, very recently I noticed a boy aged not more than 12 years was driving a small car. How come a tween was allowed to sit on the driver’s seat?

It is my plea to the traffic police to start using devices to track the speed limit and also impose a hefty fine to counter such careless peoples who risk not just their lives, but that of others’ as well.

Intelligent animals

This is with reference to the cover story “Intelligent animals” by Muhammad Niaz (YW, January 21). I agree with the writer that human beings are not the only intelligent creatures on earth, other animals are gifted too.

The article was wonderful. I appreciate the writer for sharing such important information regarding the intelligence of these speechless creatures.
