MULTAN: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is going to inaugurate Metro bus service here on Tuesday (today).

Deputy Commissioner Nadir Chattha said the project had been completed at a cost of over Rs28.88 billion and 21 bus stations were set up on the 18.5km route to facilitate 97,000 commuters daily.

Technical Adviser Sabir Khan Sadozai claimed that the project was technically faultless. He said as many as 2,600 jobs would be created due to the project.

He said the project was divided into nine packages and Rs356 million were paid to various departments for the shifting of various services on the route.

“The project’s life is 50 years but if it is properly repaired and cared, it can be useful for 100 years,” he said.
