Radio in Chitral

Published October 24, 2016

FM-93 Radio Pakistan, Chitral, has been closed for unknown reasons. It went on the air on Sept 10 for the last time. On inquiry it is stated that the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation has closed the Chitral station on the order of the PML-N highups.

The government had closed Chitral radio station in May 2014. Later it was re-opened on the recommendation of the former GOC of Malakand, Maj-Gen Nadir Khan in August 2015.

In view of Chitral’s strategic significance ie having a 600km common border with Afghanistan, it is again brought to the notice of the authorities concerned to reopen FM-93 Radio Pakistan, Chitral.
