OKARA: A woman and four children were laid to rest at Renala Khurd on Friday -- a day after their bodies were fished out of the Lower Bari Doab Canal (LBDC).

Some people informed Renala Khurd city SHO Mehr Yousuf that the body of a child was entangled in bushes at an LBDC bank near the town. Police sent for Rescue 1122 a team of which took the child’s body out of water and found his hands bound with string.

The bodies of a woman whose hands were bound back and another child came to the surface and the team not only pulled team out but also found two other children floating on water.

The children were between one and seven years, said police.

The bodies were shifted to the DHQ hospital, where autopsy was conducted.

The Renala Khurd police informed the Sarai Mughal and Pattoki police stations and later buried the unclaimed bodies.

KILLED: Two women and a man were killed in the district on Thursday and Friday.

The first incident occurred at Fatehpur village, where a man allegedly killed his daughter in the name of honour.

At Khan Colony, Sajida Bibi got decree of maintenance of children from court against her former husband Bilal, a resident of Vehari. Bilal allegedly shot her dead and fled.

A man was killed at 24/D village over an enmity.
