LAHORE: The Youth Peace Festival 2016 was held on Tuesday with more than 500 youths participating in it.

“Through such activities, outstanding members of the youth community gain much-needed recognition and opportunities through which they can become instrumental in positive social change,” said Nayyer Iqbal, the youth affairs, sports, archaeology and tourism secretary.

Bargad, a youth development organisation in collaboration with the Youth Affairs, Sports, Archaeology and Tourism Department, had organised the festival at Punjabi Complex, Qadhafi Stadium to commemorate International Youth Day.

The event featured a panel discussion, including rights activist I.A. Rehman, MPA Hasan Vickas Mokal and Tehmina Habib as panelists.

Several activities, including a signature campaign, mobile exhibition, peace resolution, presentation of youth stipulations to the government, were also part of the programme.
