SUKKUR: Asad Kharal, said to be the front man of a politician, was released from the Sukkur Central Prison-1 on Wednesday after a judicial magistrate granted him bail in two cases pertaining to possession of illegal arms, obstructing officials from discharge of their official duty and hitting a police mobile with his car to escape arrest.

The Sukkur civil and judicial magistrate granted him bail in both cases in a total sum of Rs250,000. The cases were registered at the Abad police station after his arrest, shrouded in mystery, nine days after he was got freed from law-enforcers’ custody by a mob gathered outside his Larkana House in the early hours of July 13. He remained at large till his officially announced arrest on July 22.

Kharal was received by a large number of political activists and friends outside the jail when he was released. He was escorted to his Larkana house in a convoy of more than 25 vehicles and the car carrying him was showered with rose petals all along Jail Road in Sukkur.
